STIKO@rki - the newly redesigned vaccination app for physicians and healthcare professionals.

The Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) at the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) develops vaccination recommendations for Germany, which also form the basis for the Vaccination Ordinance of the Federal Joint Committee. These recommendations are considered a medical standard and are published in an updated version every August. An interactive version of the STIKO recommendations and other helpful information regarding vaccinations can now be found in a single app.

The STIKO@rki app was developed by the RKI for vaccinating physicians and healthcare professionals to assist them with vaccination-related queries in their daily practice. Users can easily access the information relevant for advising individual patients with just a few clicks. An enhanced interactive vaccination check, a travel vaccination tool, and an educational video section are currently in preparation.

The app also provides access to the professional information of all vaccines, answers to frequently asked questions about vaccinations, and RKI guidelines on vaccine-preventable diseases. Through an integrated news feed feature, users are informed about current information and statements from STIKO, as well as other important vaccine-specific updates (e.g., vaccine supply shortages, news).

Within the app, users can find:

• The current STIKO recommendations
• Recommendations for vaccinations in specific risk groups (indication vaccinations)
• Recommendations for post-exposure prophylaxis
• Professional information on all vaccines
• RKI guidelines for physicians on vaccine-preventable diseases
• An interactive vaccination check that assists treating physicians in individual vaccination counseling. Based on patient data such as age, gender, and vaccination history, their vaccination status is verified, pending vaccinations are identified, and recommendations are provided to address existing immunization gaps.
• Users receive push notifications about current information and statements from STIKO, as well as other important vaccine-related updates (e.g., vaccine supply shortages).
